Earn 24 CE Credits — SoundBody Method™: Vibration & Sound on the Body Training
Approved for 24 CE credits for Massage Therapists through NCBTMB (Approved Provider #1001597, Course ID CE4027198).
This three-day immersive training introduces massage therapists to the SoundBody Method™, a hands-on approach using therapeutic singing bowls directly on the body, featuring Peter Hess Therapeutic Singing Bowls. Grounded in presence, attentiveness, and a "less is more" philosophy, this method supports the nervous system through gentle vibration, inviting clients into a state of deep rest and internal awareness.
Led by Gina L. Armstrong — former head of the Peter Hess Academy USA for over a decade and a trainer of sound and vibration methods for the past 13 years — this work is further informed by more than 24 years as a massage therapist and her experience as a Reiki Master and Teacher since 2004. This depth brings a grounded, intuitive approach to the training, supporting both technical skill and the subtle awareness needed to work with the body through sound.
Participants will learn how to safely and effectively place and play singing bowls on the body, working with foundational instruments such as the Universal Bowl, Belly Bowl, and Heart Bowl. The training emphasizes precision, subtlety, and quality of touch, allowing vibration to be received rather than imposed. Therapists will develop an understanding of how sound is perceived within the body and how it can support parasympathetic activation and relaxation.
The course blends theoretical and hands-on learning. Participants will explore the relationship between sound, vibration, and the body while engaging in structured partner exchanges that build confidence and sensitivity in application. Posterior and anterior protocols will be introduced, along with techniques for tapping, listening, and working with the body in a responsive, grounded way.
A central focus of the training is integration into an existing massage practice. Therapists will learn how to incorporate singing bowls into one-on-one sessions — whether as a standalone service or woven into massage therapy — with practical guidance on session flow, timing, client communication, and creating a safe, supportive environment for this work.
By the end of the three days, participants will feel prepared to integrate sound and vibration into their professional practice with clarity and confidence, and will have earned 24 NCBTMB-approved CE credits toward licensure renewal. The SoundBody Method™ offers a refined, accessible approach that enhances therapeutic presence while providing clients with a unique pathway into stillness, regulation, and embodied awareness.
